Dubble Bubble Allergens and Label Guide

The answers are printed on the packs. Here they stand in one place, next to what Tootsie and the FDA say.

Is Dubble Bubble peanut free and nut free?

Yes, by Tootsie's statement and by the badge on the packs: 12 packs in the lineup show a Peanut Free badge in their photos.

Tootsie's statement covers every plant. Several labels repeat it in their own words: produced in a facility that does not use peanuts, tree nuts or gluten.

All of our confections are completely peanut, tree nut, and nut product free. We have no peanut or tree nut products in any of our manufacturing plants.

What each pack prints

Badges and allergen lines, as read from the pack photos. Soy is the line to watch: most labels say soy may be present, and a few add milk or egg.

Is Dubble Bubble gluten free?

Tootsie says all of its confections are gluten free, and the packs carry a Gluten Free badge. Under the FDA rule, a food with that label must contain less than 20 parts per million of gluten.

Tootsie adds that it uses corn and soy in its plants. Corn syrup and corn starch are on nearly every ingredient list here.

Is Dubble Bubble kosher?

12 packs in the lineup carry the OU mark of the Orthodox Union in their photos. The sugar free bag is the exception on Tootsie's own page, which lists no kosher badge for it.

The mark is small: a U inside a circle, next to the net weight on most packs.

Does Dubble Bubble contain Red 3?

Some packs still list it: 5 labels in the lineup name FD&C Red 3, and 9 do not. The FDA revoked the color's authorization for food in January 2025.

Food makers have until January 15, 2027 to reformulate. Tootsie's current ingredient list for twist gum already names Red 40 instead, so a newer pack can carry a different color list than the one in the photos.

The FDA's own notice says the claim that Red 3 puts people at risk is not supported by the available science. The revocation follows from a law on animal studies, not from a finding of harm to people.
